Da ieri sera sulla tarda sera è arrivato “finalmente” su tutte le console il nuovo aggiornamento 3.70 per le nostre amate PS3, questo nuovo update sulla chiave novità non porta poi cosi’ tante cose con cui spassarsela, diciamo che è un aggiornamento di “sorta” che serve sopratutto ad ostacolare nuovamente i (pochi) progressi fatti dalla scena hacking in questo periodo.

Andiamo insieme a vedere il changelog dopo il salto e tutti i retroscena tecnici da “hacking scene” in questo firmware.Cominciamo con il changelog “amatoriale”, visto che ultimamente Sony tende al silenzio sui nuovi cambiamenti:

  • Automatic trophy syncing for Playstation Plus subscribers.
  • Automatic upload of game saves to online storage for Playstation Plus subscribers.
  • Playstation Plus feature ‘Automatic Download’ is renamed to ‘Automatic Update’.
  • TV section on the XMB renamed to TV/Video Services.
  • ‘Recommend’ button added to Playstation Store items. With this feature you can recommend downloads to your friends through PSN messages.
  • MPO (Multi-Picture format) files for 3D photos and multi-angle photos can now be displayed under Photo and in [Photo Gallery].
  • 3D playback of Blu-ray Java (“BD-J”) content is now supported. You can now enjoy BD-J content recorded on Blu-ray 3D discs.
  • The ordering of your online friends list has been changed back to alphabetic.
Ed adesso passiamo invece agli aspetti tecnici, che grazie a PS3Crunch sono venuti alla luce alla svelta: il FW 3.70 contiene un nuovo set di chiavi, e direttamente dal sito di Demon Hades che ultimamente si da da fare:
Good morning Demons, as you all know this morning was 370 for the new PS3 firmware, I just wanted to tell you that the new firmware uses a new key to decrypt the files that comprise it (as for games that require 3.70 in the future).

Not only that, in this new firmware have put measures that would leave unused the method of load ps2 games using the cobra (as Demonhades has stated before it is better to build on v3.41 as all future versions are more restrictive).

Riassumendo, è scritto che il nuovo FW 3.70 contiene un nuovo set di chiavi, e quindi tutti i futuri giochi e updates lo conterranno (un po’ come accade adesso con le chiavi del 3.6x) ed inoltre Sony si è presa la briga di patchare un bug che permetteva il caricamento dei giochi PS2 usando il dongle Cobra USB (sulle PS3 retrocompatibili)… ed è una cosa strana, visto che il dongle è compatibile solo con FW 3.55… che Sony sappia qualcosa su questo exploit che a noi è sfuggito? Che bisogno c’e’ di patchare qualcosa che funziona correttamente solo su FW precedenti? Mamma Sony ha ancora tante riserve per noi…
Intanto a tutti i giocatori del PSN: Buon Update! E al resto dei jailbreakers, il solito avvertimento: se aggiornate perdete il jailbreak e quindi la possibilità di avviare qualunque tipo di homebrew o loader, tenetevi stretto il vostro CFW!
